Welcome to our (wiki) Kitchen!

We call it the kitchen because this is where we cook everything up for Swift Kick's projects. Warning: It's a live kitchen. It's a little messy and often a little hectic, but it is also very real and as open as we can make it.

Please, have a look around, pick up whatever you like. Everything on here is Creative Commons (that means you can't steal it and claim it as your own, but you can link to it, remix it, use it for education, and other normal things humans do with their brains.)

And, by all means, because you are here, you probably care about the same things we do (students, education, and engagement), so let your voice be heard by clicking on the "Edit this page" link on the top of every page and make some edits, leave your thoughts, put in a few links, whatever you like. Throw in your two cents or 5 dollars.

There can't be too many cooks in this kitchen ; )

About Swift Kick

Swift Kick is an open content education company. We work in the open, sharing what we learn and what we know as widely as possible.

Swift Kick exists to solve apathy. We work with schools and students to make their campus the equivalent of a good dance floor - where people get involved, play, learn, and have fun.

Unfortunately, research shows (NSSE 2006) that on average, 60% of students will never get involved. This makes for a lame dance. We exist to help fix that.

We have three tiers of relationship with different schools:

  • Tier one schools are limited to 5 for 2009. These schools are working collaboratively with Swift Kick, completely integrating all the elements of engagement: leadership, technology, and community.
  • Tier two schools are limited to approximately 100 in 2010 and will have either Red Rover, Leadership or Technology Training on their campus.
  • Any school or student is welcome to use or the Swift Kick wikispace or blog to improve engagement on their campus. All that we ask is that you come back and leave thoughts, comments and notes about your efforts so that we can disseminate the learning to others.
